Utility Worker Duties and Responsibilities

Service personnel perform routine maintenance in a variety of work environments. Since the job usually involves a lot of lifting and climbing, service personnel must be in good physical condition. The service personnel also have to work on maintenance equipment and vehicles, so valid driver's licenses are essential for many jobs. Some employers also require applicants to have a commercial driver's license.

Utility workers often find work in manufacturing companies, parks and entertainment departments, restaurants, health organizations, and transportation facilities.

Maintain clean facilities

Monitor entire projects

After a project is completed, the service staff must perform an inspection to ensure that the project is being delivered correctly. Repair and replacement of defective devices

Employers rely on service staff to repair or replace defective equipment.
